Justice League Dark 22

This particular part of the “Trinity War” is where the story slows way down.  After all the action this was definitely a letdown for me personally but the art was wonderfully done by Mikel Janin.  The story does not really progress or provide any real answers in this issue.  Wonder Woman is still on a wild goose chase to try and help Superman while Batman is trying to stop her.  Batman is following the lead of the Phantom Stranger and the heroes are divided between the pair.  The story ends with Superman escaping from his restraints and leading a third team for answers as well. In summation, the Justice Leaguers chase their tails all issue long.

I think this was a case of just too much going on for a smaller caliber book to handle. Jeff Lemire struggled to write the guest crossover characters.  On a positive note the usual suspects like Constantine and Zatanna shined in this issue. Overall everything just seemed a bit forced with too many heroes acting out of character.  Since when does Batman blindly follow the advice of someone he never met? Hopefully the action picks back in part four and the bigger picture starts to get a little clearer. I would have to give this issue a solid yet disappointing 3 out 5.

The Flash live-action TV series is being quickly (pun intended) put into production due to the great success of The Arrow series on the CW.

The Flash series will be on the CW and will be a spin-off from Arrow with the Flash appearing on the show late in season 2. It is uncertain if the show will be with Barry Allen or a different version of the fastest man alive. The show will come from the existing Arrow creators Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg, along with director David Nutter and writer/DC Entertainment Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns! This news comes on the back-end of the news from SDCC about the Superman/Batman movie and the potential Justice League movie along with The Flash movie still set for 2016.250px-flash_dvd

If you can’t wait for this version of The Flash, check out the 1990 version starring John Wesley Shipp.

Don’t forget to check out The Flash in the new animated movie Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox now out on Blu-Ray/DVD.

Playing Catch-up

It’s that time of year again, when all the rumors and whispers are going to be confirmed or shot down. It’s the San Diego Comic Convention and there is a buzz in the air. There have been rumors circulating since The Avengers movie did so well, that a Justice League movie would come into play to compete with the Marvel franchise. But first they should introduce the starring cast within their own franchises.

You of course have Batman. Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, and The Dark Knight Rises. Everyone knows the line-up. Just recently released you have Man of Steel which introduces Superman. Somewhere in the mix you have the box office bust Green Lantern. But three heroes does not make the Justice League. Tentatively, the next hero we are to meet is The Flash. The untitled Flash movie is set to be released in 2016 as reported by THR. Also reported in the same story is that the sequel to Man of Steel will not be Man of Steel 2, but a Superman/Batman team-up movie. The two are known in some circles as The World’s Finest. The logo for the upcoming film was shown at SDCC as shown below.

All of the details on the Superman/Batman movie have not come together, but we do know that Henry Cavill will be in the role of Superman, since he is signed on for the franchise. Who will play the part of Batman? It does not look like Christian Bale will be in that role as taken from an interview with Entertainment Weekly. It’s likely that Batman will be a rebooted character. But where does Christopher Nolan fit within this team-up? The writer from the Dark Knight series and Man of Steel looks like he is going to be on board. But it looks like he will be an executive producer on the project. David Goyer is also set to come back as a writer for Superman/Batman. Goyer was a co-writer with Nolan on the Man of Steel and many of the Dark Knight movies. Joining Goyer will be director Zack Snyder, who was the director on the Man of Steel movie.

Other actors are set to come back to the next in the DC line of movies. Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane from Man of Steel will be back in their roles in the new film. The Superman/Batman film has a scheduled release date of 2015.

To meet the only female character within the Justice League, there are still rumors floating about a TV series about Wonder Woman. Since the success of Arrow, more comics are looking to be portrayed on the small screen, like The S.H.I.E.L.D. We do not know as of yet if other Justice League members such as Green Arrow or Cyborg will make an appearance in the film. The Justice League movie is scheduled to release a year after the Flash movie in 2017.

Does this mean that DC is starting to catch up with Marvel in the motion picture game? Who would you like to see as the new Batman? Who would you want to see play the Flash? Make sure to leave a comment below and share the exciting news with your friends!

World's Finest

Everyone wants the Justice League movie to happen. But one man, who would possibly be playing a role in the movie, would “sweep the floors when they are done”.

Stephen Amell, who plays Oliver Queen on the CW show “Arrow”, would love to be one of the characters depicted in the 2015 Justice League movie.

Amell has some thoughts about how the character could be portrayed from an interview with SciFiNow, “I think that Green Arrow has an opportunity to mature in much the same way Iron Man did in the Marvel universe. He wasn’t necessarily a top level character, but because they made an Iron Man movie and it was successful, it vaulted him up and now he anchors the Avengers,” he adds “It’s always up to what’s popular at the moment. Right now archery seems to be having a mini renaissance, so hopefully he can settle into a firm rotating member of the DC Justice League of America.”

It would be nice to throw Green Arrow into the mix of the Justice League movie. Comment below on what you think should happen.

Infinite Crisis LogoPlaying new games in beta can be exciting. Get to try out new characters, find out new abilities, and learn about the game you hope to play when it is live one day. Then you encounter the asshole trolls that have been playing the beta longer than you and bitch when you don’t know what you are doing. OF COURSE I DON’T KNOW WHAT I’M DOING, IT’S A BETA TEST!

Anyway, Infinite Crisis takes the amazing world of League of Legends and adds a DC twist to it, making it a very recognizable brand. Most people that are excited about this game are ones that have played LoL (League of Legends) and are excited for a new twist on the game.

Infinite Crisis takes DC characters from 6 different universes and puts them into one universe. You have your Prime universe, Gaslight and Nightmare (all live in beta) with characters that will also come from Arcane, Atomic and Mecha universes.

After playing a few rounds it seems that either some people are just getting frustrated, or they don’t realize what graphics settings their game is supposed to be set at. In every game, there are at least 2 people that leave the game which makes the game unfair, since it’s usually 2 from the same side. But there is still much more to discover within the game. The items you purchase seem to be similar to that of LoL. You can customize your character by purchasing skins from the store. You can buy different characters from the store as well.

From the looks of the character select screen, only about half of the playable characters are available at the moment, with more most likely to release as the street date (which is set for sometime in 2013) get closer. But as this E3 season draws to a close tomorrow, there are still many games exciting games to check out and anticipate!

And from my perspective, the race order goes like this: PS4 > Wii U > Xbox One (even though I will be getting an Xbox One).

And by the way, go sign up for the beta if you want to see more of the game play!
