NERDSYNQAnd here is the video we have all been waiting for at NERDSYNQ:

It has come to light today that the lost anticipated of Lucasarts’ projects, Star Wars: 1313 was a Boba Fett game. Apparently last May, George Lucas decided the game was best suited as a Boba Fett game. At that point the project had been changed multiple times, and it seems the game had been in trouble the whole way through. It was reported in February that the project had been on hold since last Fall, and even though Disney is open to licensing the project, sources say the chances of that are very slim. This is definitely a twist of the knife after the bad news that Lucasarts was closed yesterday. Enjoy the concept art at least, maybe one day we will get an amazing Boba Fett game.

Lucasarts has been shut down by it’s new parent company Disney this morning, in the process laying off some 150 employees. Their two games, Star Wars: First Assault and the highly anticipated Star Wars: 1313, have been effectively canceled. Although it has been stated that Star Wars: 1313 could live on if the game is licensed. Disney’s new focus is to license the newly acquired properties to other publishers and studios for development. Disney has releases a statement stating the following:

“After evaluating our position in the games market, we’ve decided to shift LucasArts from an internal development to a licensing model, minimizing the company’s risk while achieving a broader portfolio of quality Star Wars games,” the statement reads.

“As a result of this change, we’ve had layoffs across the organization. We are incredibly appreciative and proud of the talented teams who have been developing our new titles.”

Hopefully someone will pick up Star Wars: 1313 as it was one of the bes things shown at E3 2012.

Today at Capcom’s World of Capcom panel at PAX East, the publisher announced a new DuckTales title. Due out this summer on Xbox Live, PlayStation Network, and eShop for Wii U, the game is in development at WayForward Technologies. Wayforward is the maker of Bloodrayne: Betrayal. The game is going to feature all the voice actors from the show, and it’s level backgrounds will be featured from the show. Capcom also explained that all the art is hand-drawn, and the team used the original NES DuckTales title as a blueprint.

Speaking of that classic NES game, Capcom has announced they will be releasing a remastered version of the original title and will be headed to Xbox Live and PSN soon.
