The movie news scene has been buzzing since the many reveals at this years San Diego Comic Con. One of the biggest reveals this year being DC Comics announcement of “World’s Finest”  to be released in 2015. World’s Finest brings together two of DC’s biggest names in one of the greatest stories ever told. But hold the phone…Who’s going to be Batman?

It’s kind of a no-brainer to know that Henry Cavill will reprise his role as our favorite super powered boyscout, but after the events of the Nolan-verse Batman trilogy who should we expect for Bats? Sources have revealed that Christian Bale will NOT be returning to the Cape and Cowl. Instead the studio is looking toward a grittier and older dark detective, wanting an actor in his early 30’s to mid 40’s for a more experienced crime fighter. With the quote that was read at the reveal, “In all the years to come, in your most private moments, I want you to remember the one man who beat you!”, to can expect the story to be along the lines of the stellar Frank miller story Dark Knight Returns in which an older retired batman returns to his costume culminating in an earth shattering battle between the dynamic duo as Superman has become a pawn of our government.

Given Warner Bros. long standing history with actor Josh Brolin (Jonah Hex), its no surprise to learn that he is the front runner to pick for the role of the dark knight. Other naes in the hopefuls list include Ryan Gosling (Drive), Richard Armitage (The Hobbit), Joe Manganiello (True Blood), Max Martini (The Unit), and Matthew Goode who is no stranger to a cape as he played in Zak Snyder’s early release Watchmen as Ozymandias. Brolin himself seems to have just the right amount of brood to take the mantle of the bat to a dark new level. But What do you think? Sound off in the comments below!
