breach & clear

Rainbow 6 meets XCOM

Let me just start the post by saying I’m stupid excited for this game.  Like, SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO excited.  Finally, a game that allows me to exert full tactical control over my team, so PVT. Jenkins doesn’t die because he couldn’t remember to look both ways.  You all know that feeling, watching your tactically flawless plan crumble because one single soldier decides to forget months of training and not cover an open doorway.  Well, maybe not everyone knows that feeling, but some of you do, right?    RIGHT?!    Yeah, you dont, I know.  But I do, and let me tell you, it sucks.  It’s like getting killed by the level 1 newb who is 0-12 when you have a 24 kill streak going.  Breach & Clear is here to change all that.

You are in command of an elite squad charged with, you guessed it, breaching, and, wait for it……………………………….

…………………….clearing, out terrorist, criminals, and general riff raff.  Your squad is composed of soldiers from elite squads all around the world, with the best gear and the best training.  But none of that will matter if your tactics and plans are not sound.  All the baddies will need is a few clear seconds, and WHAM, you are down a man or two.  Keep all your angles covered, and you should come out on top.  Best thing about this game, its FREE!    TOE-TALL-LEE-FREE! (I imagine Jessie and James saying this)  Breach & Clear hopefully will be dropping this summer, so check back here for updates, and the eventual review (Don’t worry, I’ll be doing the review)

This is the first Let’s Play done by myself, with commentary alongside fellow writer Illuminating. It’s out first time so we had some sound issues, which I will apologize in advance for. Tune in every Thursday for a new video, and since I forgot to post last week, you get two videos today. Feel free to leave any feedback in the comments below, and see you next week.

For those of you who were sad to have Season 1 end, I have good news and bad news for you. The good news is that Season 2 has been announced! The bad news: it’s not for another 4 months away. Season 2 of Arrow is set to begin on October 9th at 8pm on the CW.

Arrow was CW’s most watched series during Season 1. Season 2 is expected to bring in more of DC’s superhero line-up, including a potential team-up. Could it be Red Arrow, who is already in the series as Roy Harper, or could it be someone like Green Arrow?

With the addition of some new heroes comes new villains. Producers have announced that there will be 2 new villains, both of which will be very recognizable figures.

For those of you that have not watched Season 1, you now have time to watch all 23 episodes!

Call of Juarez: Gunslinger

If you are like me (and you aren’t) and you were disappointed that Red Dead Redemption wasn’t more like its predecessor Red Dead Revolver, then you are in luck, because CoJ: Gunslinger is here.  If you like drama, adventure, and a gripping story, coupled with a wild west setting, go back to Red Dead Redemption.  If you want to shoot some outlaws with a six-shooter, then keep reading.

For the modest price of 1200 Microsoft points (or 15 real people dollars) you can hunt down dangerous outlaws as the notorious bounty hunter, Silas Greaves.  The story is told through an aged Silas recounting his exploits to a few eager ears in a saloon in Abilene, Kansas.  You play as the younger Silas, reliving his past from a simple outlaw to a renowned bounty hunter.  The art style is on the cartoony side, but I feel that makes the story richer, as it enhances the sense of myth blurring with fact.  With the ability to upgrade your abilities, engage in duels, and hunt around for nuggets of truth (collectables), this arcade shooter is much more than meets the eye.

(Look forward to more Games You Should Play [GYSP] in the near future)

Yes, that’s about right.  The pretty little Shailene Woodley will not be appearing in “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” after all.   The reason?  Director Marc Webb has chosen to streamline the story, meaning the focus will be on Peter’s relationship with Gwen and, you know, intense superhero action.  To be fair, Mary Jane’s appearance in the sequel was not expected to be a large part .  She was only written into a few scenes and the Woodley was on the set for a mere three days.

But despite the disappointing news, the dumped actress is remaining positive and now looking forward to her involvement in the upcoming Sci-Fi movie, Divergent.
