Bethesda, makers of the hugely popular games Fallout 3 and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, are teasing huge announcements for this year. 2012 wasn’t really quiet year for the studio though, publishing Dishonored and problems were abound with the Playstation 3 version of Skyrim. The announcement of the Elder Scrolls MMO also elicited some ire from the masses. Regardless, Pete Hines, Bethesda’s PR and marketing VP, has hinted at some huge announcements this week on the OXM Podcast. He didn’t go into specifics of course, but teased some big announcements are near. “I think you’ll hear us making considerably more noise this year than we did last year, as a publisher. Obviously The Elder Scrolls Online is out and we’ve got the Dishonored DLC, but we will be announcing new stuff and making some noise, and I think when we get the chance to show you guys what we’re up to, that you’ll sit up and take notice.” He went on to say, “I think we’re continuing to do the stuff that we get excited about, and people will get really excited about when they hear what we’re up to, which is continuing to push the boundaries, reinvent – find really smart, passionate teams who know what they’re doing and have an idea that they really want to do and do well.”
Fallout 4 has been rumored for a while, and reports that Bethesda has been scouting locations in Boston have been confirmed. I was also discovered in February that the studio was scouting for next-gen talent. I’m personally hoping to see Fallout 4 at E3, hopefully for next-gen consoles. What are you looking forward to from the studio? Let us know below!
